As a recruiter for the entire United States of America I visit many cosmetology schools and interview countless students. I had my first visit to Aveda Fredric's Institutes in Cincinnati, Ohio and Indianapolis, Indiana this December. I was so impressed with the students, staff and facilities. Hello everyone at the Institute in Cincinnati. I just wanted to let you know what a wonderful experience attending the institute was for me. I attend the Cincinnati school from January 2005 through October 2005 and had a great time. I graduated and started working at a small salon, (Aveda of course), back in my home town of Richmond, IN. I was working with women who have been stylist for 20 years and with Aveda for at least 10. I felt totally confident next to them. I worked there for 1 year and then, moved to Williamsburg, VA with my husband, he's in the Navy. I started working at Elements Spa in the Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg, again Aveda of course. That is where I realized how much more prepared I was then all of the other hair stylists there. I had been doing hair the least amount of time and I felt the I was light years ahead of them and it is all because of the Institute. You all prepared me for my future in a way I can't even explain and I just wanted to Thank You!! :) I think the Aveda Fredric's Institute is the best cosmetology school around and I tell everyone I know about it. I am half way through my Cosmetology program here at Aveda Fredric's Institute of Indianapolis and I could not be happier with my decision to apply. Being a college graduate I was a little skeptical about attending a beauty school, but Aveda is so much more than that, it's an all natural lifestyle, and I feel honored to be a part of it. I told myself that if I was going to take this change in career paths, then Aveda was the only route that I'd take. I know Aveda Fredric's Cincinnati's reputation and I knew I had to apply to this Indianapolis Institute before the waiting list became as long as the one in Cincinnati.
From day one I knew that I made the right decision. I was surrounded by beauty, professionalism, friendliness, upbeat energy, and most of all, a wide range of students that I felt I really connected with. This industry draws a certain type of personality, which is why I feel that my classmates are more than colleagues, they are my friends, some of which I hope to follow after graduation.
The instructors truly care about the students on all levels. Even though there are numerous students, I still am able to receive individual attention that I feel is sometimes necessary for me. I know that I can approach each and every one of them for anything; personal or educational.
Most importantly, I believe that nothing is better then being Aveda trained and certified! Although I am 24 years old and a college graduate, I am so proud when I tell people that I am now an Aveda Fredric's student.
The energy here at the Aveda Fredric's Institute is incredible. From the students, to the teachers and staff, and of course the clients, you can just feel how excited everyone is to be here! We truly work to help each other every day and I am really looking forward to seeing my classmates throughout the rest of my career as we all lead the way in this industry.

AFI is amazing! I look forward to coming to school everyday. The instructors are great and they really care about your education, and pushing you to succeed. It's a fun atmosphere and the technology is top notch. The teachers go out of their way and bend over backwards to help you. Each day I learn something new, whether it's about haircuts to learning about bacteria. They make it fun and I never stop learning. When people ask me what school I attend, I am proud to say AFI. I couldn't be any happier right now and I love what I am doing. But most of all the educators are the best because without them we would not be here in this great environment!
You want to know what I think of the AFI? Okay I will tell you! In simple words it's wonderful, fantastic, and superb. Now let me elaborate. I'm still early in my program an already my confidence level had risen tremendously. The energy here is invigorating! Just to be surrounded by these people are these beliefs, it almost leaves me speechless. The instructors know what they are doing, but they just don't do it for us, rather they make sure we have the knowledge to succeed and do it ourselves. Never have I felt so strongly about an establishment and its people. This has got to be the best decision of my life!
My time here at the AFI has already been an amazing experience. From the fellow students to the Instructors. They have a passion for this industry that is like no other. I've went to other schools and from day one the professionalism of this school and instructors put all to shame. Growing up I was always styling friend's hair and doing their makeup. I have always had a passion to become a cosmetologist and knew that I would eventually become the best. You education experience and passion are so important in this cutting edge industry. An Aveda Institute was the only place that would give me everything I needed to allow me to achieve my goals. As I was at the Aveda Institute in Minneapolis I learned about the Aveda Fredric's Institute being built here in Castleton. It's the best choice I have ever made. The atmosphere is amazing.
