Is housing provided?
Although Aveda Fredric’s Institute does not own a student dormitory, the school is located in an area that has many options for affordable living arrangements. The Admissions Team has information for nearby rental opportunities.
What does the investment for tuition include?
Aveda Fredric’s Institute makes paying tuition and fees as easy as possible. Most expenses are included with tuition. The investment will fund: registration fee, tuition, textbooks and student kit. The student kit includes tools and implements required to perform services while in classroom and student salon.
Am I guaranteed a job once I’ve graduated from the program?
Aveda Fredric's Institute is primarily an Institute of learning and does not guarantee career placement. However, we provide tools, events, training and personalized attention to assist graduates in their career search. Career networking events are hosted in both locations (Cincinnati, Ohio and Indianapolis, Indiana) with only Aveda Fredric's Institute students and prospective employers, a career board lists hiring needs at a variety of salon spas, classroom time is dedicated to interviewing skills and each student is offered an individual session to aid in their career placement plan. These efforts allows the Aveda Fredric's Institute to consistently maintain a placement rate above the National Accrediting Commission of Cosmetology Arts and Sciences required percentage. Do you accept transfer hours or credits?
Applicants for transfer into cosmetology or esthiology are considered on an individual basis. Aveda Fredric's Institute may, at it's discretion, refuse transfers if admission requirements, including tuition, cannot be met.
How many hours do I need to be a licensed cosmetologist?
The state of Ohio requires 750 hours of managing esthiology education.
How many hours do I need to be a licensed managing esthician? (offered at the Cincinnati, Ohio location only)
The state of Ohio requires 1500 hours for cosmetology, 1800 for managing cosmetology. The state of Indiana requires 1500 hours for cosmetology.
Where do I take my state board exam once I’ve finished the program?
As part of the preparation for the State Board Exam, instructions regarding scheduling and completion of forms will be provided by Aveda Fredric's Institute.

The Indiana State Board of Cosmetology Examiners requires formal, written and practical testing conducted on site at the Institute. Upon graduation, the State Board Examination application must be approved by the Indiana State Board of Examiners to be eligible for the written examination for licensure.

Do students wear uniforms?
Professional image standards are vital to success. The Aveda Fredric's Institute encourages individual style allowing students to reflect a professional and polished look. Students wear solid black clothing and solid black shoes.
What is the class size?
In order to offer the best education possible, Aveda Fredric’s Institute maintains small class sizes with excellent student to instructor ratios. Class size varies; typically Cosmetology will enroll 20-24 students per enrollment period. Esthiology will typically enroll 12 students per enrollment period.

Does the Aveda Fredric’s Institute offer continuing education?
The Aveda Fredric's Institute provides licensure education programs only. Aveda Corporation holds continuing education for licensed professionals currently employed at salon, spas carrying Aveda products.
Are there Aveda Fredric’s Institutes in other locations?
The Aveda Fredric's Institute currently has two locations. Our first location in Cincinnati, Ohio was opened in 1999 and we opened our second location in Indianapolis, Indiana in 2005.
