Hello everyone at the Institute in Cincinnati. I just wanted to let you know what a wonderful experience attending the institute was for me. I attend the Cincinnati school from January 2005 through October 2005 and had a great time. I graduated and started working at a small salon, (Aveda of course), back in my home town of Richmond, IN. I was working with women who have been stylist for 20 years and with Aveda for at least 10. I felt totally confident next to them. I worked there for 1 year and then, moved to Williamsburg, VA with my husband, he's in the Navy. I started working at Elements Spa in the Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg, again Aveda of course. That is where I realized how much more prepared I was then all of the other hair stylists there. I had been doing hair the least amount of time and I felt the I was light years ahead of them and it is all because of the Institute. You all prepared me for my future in a way I can't even explain and I just wanted to Thank You!! :) I think the Aveda Fredric's Institute is the best cosmetology school around and I tell everyone I know about it. Thanks so much for the memorable graduation ceremony Friday evening.  I am so proud to be an Aveda Fredric’s graduate.  I feel blessed to have had Patty, Barb and Brianne as my instructors.  My educational experience had been wonderful with these ladies who compliment each other so well.  I sincerely could not have accomplished my programs without each of their consistent support on every level.

In this last week of starting at AFI, I feel like something inside of me has changed. I feel an inspiration that I haven't felt before. I feel like I am doing a good thing, and I am veryproud to be apart of the Aveda lifestyle now. The instructors at your institute, are amazing. They are very knowledgeable, and have a true passion for the whole mission of Aveda. Where sometimes, other companies just do lip service, but not here.Thank you. It's a beautiful day here in Bar Harbor, Maine as I am putting together my state of the art facial room and nail room.  As I was putting an order together this morning for several thousand dollars worth of retail and professional nail products, I thought I should send you this update.

Currently, I am the only esthetician and nail technician at the Spa at the Bar Harbor Club. Thanks to my education and management training, my new employers have instilled a great deal of responsibility in me.  As the only esthetician and nail tech, I am now responsible for all training in esthetics and nail care for future employees, and am writing manuals, protocols, and orders.  I have 15 different facials to master in two separate skin care lines (Sothys and Aromatherapy Associates), and another 10 manicures and pedicures.

There is absolutely no way I would be equiped for this position without the training I received at Aveda Fredric's and from the Esthetics staff there.  Patty, Melissa, and Brianne not only taught me what I needed to know for my state board examinations; they also taught me confidence in my skills and ideas.  For as exhausted as I was at the end of my training, I would not change it for the world.

Please pass this along to them.  I cannot thank you all enough for pushing me to be the best spa professional I could be when I left Fredric's.  

Also, I've been asked to continue with Ocean Properties in a management position after my original contract expires in October. I've been an employee for exactly two weeks today.

To the Administrators and Faculty of the Aveda Fredric's Institute: I had the great pleasure of being one of your clients today and I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed and appreciated the experience. My student was Ms. Erin Petty and although a student, she provided me with top-notch service. I was a bit unsure about coming to a "training" salon but I was thoroughly impressed by the professionalism of the students and the staff. Ms. Petty's faculty supervisor, Diane, watched over the whole process and was quick to help and even quicker to praise. As a teacher, I know the importance of praise and how important a good teacher/student rapport is. I watched Ms. Petty's rapt attention as her instructor demonstrated a new technique; it was obvious that Erin was eager to learn from an expert stylist. I loved the little extras like the mini-facial and the stress treatment. Erin's knowledge and choice of Aveda products for my hair took care of much of the damage that had been done by summer sun and chemicals.
